Our Terms & Conditions

These are terms and conditions that govern the contract between the individual(s) purchasing a safari and Bulamu Safaris. These conditions are put in place in order to guide between the 2 parties prior to the acceptance of making and confirming a booking us. Please take time to read the terms and conditions carefully. Confirming a safari with Bulamu Safaris means that you have read, fully understand and ready to comply with the terms and conditions as described below;

Reservation/booking acceptance;
Up on your acceptance of confirming a booking with Bulamu safaris, this means that there is a mutual understating and agreement that has been reached up on between the 2 parties, which implies that all are bound by these terms and conditions of Bulamu Safaris Ltd.

Deposits;
Up on reaching the final agreement about your safari arrangements, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the ground arrangements is required to be paid. This is to ensure that reservations are made.

Note:The full amount (100%) for the gorilla permits (US$ 600 per permit), chimpanzee permits (US$ 150), and if you have a domestic flight within your safari, all these should be paid in full amounts.

The payment of balance (70%) will need to be paid no later than 30 days (4 weeks) prior to the starting date of the safari.

Full payment;
The full amount (100%) is required to be paid by the persons up on making a booking for a safari in 6 weeks (45 days) period to the starting date of your safari. If the full amount is not paid in due time of the invoice, Bulamu Safaris reserves the right to cancel your booking.

Payments can be made through bank transfer to Bulamu Safari bank account. Bank costs and transfers, are to be paid by the client(s) and you should always let us know after making a transfer. So feel free and safe when making your payment by bank transfers. In cases of wrong bank transfer due to a client’s negligence and carelessness, Bulamu Safaris won’t be responsible.

If payment is not received in accordance with the above, Bulamu Safaris has the right to cancel the booking.

 Cancellations;
Once you book a Safari with us and you pay a deposit, this is a sign of your willingness to utilize travel arrangements and accommodation which we reserve on your behalf. Should you or any of your group members cancel his/her holiday; you must put in writing. The cancellation policy becomes effective on the date which we receive the notice, the percentage will be calculated and deducted.

Cancellation percentages;
60 days before the safari starting date, the company takes 30% as cancellation fee for the ground arrangements plus the full cost of gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits since we buy them in advance immediately after your payments are made to secure your safari.

38 to 21 days before the safari starting date, the company takes 50% as cancellation fee from total cost of the booking and a full cost of gorilla permits and chimpanzee permits since we buy them in advance immediately after your payments are made to secure your safari.

21 to 7 days before the departure date, the company takes 75% as cancellation fee of the total cost of the booking plus the costs of gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits since we buy them in advance immediately after your payments are made to secure your safari.

7 days before the safari starting date, the cancellation fee is 100%. No refund!

Refunds;
Please note that Gorilla and Chimpanzee Permit Fees are non-refundable in case of cancellation.

Refunds will not be made to a No-Show or unused services like accommodation by any of the tour member.

In cases of wrong bank transfer due to a client’s negligence on time of payment for the safari, Bulamu Safaris reserves the right not to be involved.

If the client misses out to do a given activity in the package or doesn’t do the safari due to an accident, illness or any other cause not that of the company, no refund is given.

Travel insurance;
It is the client’s responsibility to arrange his/her personal insurance through your home insurance company or your agents. It is strongly recommended that clients should also take out insurance to cover their emergency travel, lost baggage, stolen items like phones, laptops, iPads and any other covers.

Responsibility/liability;
Bulamu Safaris will not be held liable whatsoever in cases of damage and loss of Client’s property or money during the safari arising from client’s negligence and carelessness, these cases are advised to be compensated by your travel insurance company.

It’s every client’s responsibility to be carefully read the itinerary, so that there is no demand for any other activity which is not included in the program.

If the client misses out to do any activity in the package due to unforeseen conditions, accident, illness or any other cause but not that of the company, no refund will be given since all these activities are already paid in advance.

It is the responsibility of the client(s), travel agency/wholesaler to ensure that all members of the tour have the appropriate passports, visas, travel permits, health certificates and other documentation required for the safari.

It is the responsibility of the clients to take proper medical and practical precautions in regarding to health and safety. Medical advice should be sought well before traveling.

It’s the client’s responsibility to obtain Visas, have a valid passport, Insurance or the necessary required documents for travel to any country before He or she can travel.

Bulamu Safaris won’t accept liability or pay compensation for unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the company or its staff, including flight delays/cancellations or circumstances such as war or threat of war, riots, border closure, strikes, thefts, epidemics, road closures, industrial disputes, natural disaster, extreme weather conditions, fire, technical or mechanical problems to transport and all similar events beyond the company’s control.

Bulamu Safaris won’t be liable for failure of any means of conveyance to arrive or depart as scheduled, civil disturbances, terrorism, government restrictions or regulations and discrepancies or changes in hotel services in which Bulamu has no control.

Bulamu Safaris reserves the right to employ sub-contracts to our partners to carry out all or part of the services agreed to be supplied to our clients.

Complaints
In cases of any complaint, the client should notify the Company or responsible party if he/she or they are not comfortable.

Complaints should be made well early in advance. Failure to do so, the company reserves the right not to be held responsible.

Safari cost increase;
Price increase may occur due to any increase in, fuel costs, activities rates, and fluctuation of exchange rates. The company reserves the right to add an increment in the safaris costs. If any clients don’t accept to pay that increment, Bulamu Safaris reserves the right to cancel the tour and will refund your money according to the number of days left to your safari departure.

Accommodation selections;
Bulamu safaris here we always try our level best to select carefully the best lodges and hotels depending on your choices so that you enjoy your safari holiday conveniently and comfortably and in case accommodations are not available, we reserve the right to provide an alternative but after communicating with the client(s).

All packages are subject to availability and not guaranteed until everything is confirmed.

“Budget” – these includes; such as simple guesthouses or simple bandas/tents, camping and dormitory rooms that are available, their Services and amenity are somehow not of high standards and you are likely to share some facilities with other guests, but choosing this standard can save you in the price of the tour.

“Mid-range” – focused mainly on the mid-range market and therefore has a special ability to choose the best accommodation of this standard. This is your best option for comfortable, self-contained (‘en suite’) accommodation set in stunning locations that don’t cost a fortune.

“Luxury” or “up market” – for these accommodations are more comfortable than the mid-range. The locations may be similar, but the standards are further refined, these lodges have private facilities, like bath rooms etc. These accommodations are always fully equipped, comfortable and usually more spacious than the mid-range options. They always have facilities like swimming pools, self-contained bathrooms, free WI-FI, and other facilities.

Viewing Animals:
When it comes to game viewing, please be advised there are no guarantees. It is a privilege to see animals in their natural habitat. Take only a photograph; leave only a footprint. A gorilla permit guarantees you will trek gorillas to their location but does not guarantee that the gorillas WILL be in plain sight though the chances are high (90%) to meet with these giants.

NOTE:Tailor made Safaris; these are designed by your selves, based on your dates, accommodation and your interests, you detail everything you want in your inquiry form so that we know what you want and then we get back to you.

Our scheduled safaris; are offered on a limited basis and depart on set dates. These tours require a minimum of 2 to 6 guests. We have organized these tours mainly for medium/Budget, travelers because of favorable/low cost safaris.
